Bodycam footage shows the arrest of a Wisconsin man after he attempted to meet up with a middle school girl for sex. People are asking why probation? The core difference between a proper police sting and these YouTube vigilante operations is motive. Law enforcement runs controlled stings with strict protocols to gather clean, admissible evidence while minimizing inducement risks. Their goal is conviction, so they avoid anything that looks like over-pushing or coaching the suspect into the crime.
YouTube "predator buster" groups, on the other hand, have a completely different incentive: clicks, views, donations, sponsorships, and monetization. The longer and more dramatic the build-up (months of flirty daily messages, deep personal questions, repeated begging for a meetup despite clear hesitation), the more content they can milk: multiple videos, updates, live streams, reaction content, etc. That prolonged pressure and emotional manipulation can make the eventual meet-up feel like it was engineered rather than organic, which judges and juries often pick up on.
When the "13yr old" decoy spends two months "flirting daily," asking personal questions to build rapport, then repeatedly pushing for the meetup after the guy expresses hesitation, it creates a strong narrative that the suspect might not have initiated or pursued the offense without that sustained coercion

I usually dont like or agree with entrapment , but in these situations , it is completely justified . It fills me with despair that he has a daughter . He is only the tip of the iceberg . There are dozens of these even in the smallest of towns . No exaggeration .
