News Now Omaha aka Floyd Wallace Jr arrested for sexually exploiting minors in Rio de Janeiro

Police arrested Floyd Wallace Jr., a 29-year-old American man accused of sexually exploiting children in Rio de Janeiro. The arrest took place at a hotel in the Liberdade neighborhood, in the center of São Paulo, and was coordinated by the Homicide and Personal Protection Department with the support of the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police.

Floyd had been under investigation since the beginning of December after a ride-hailing driver reported that a user, using a false name, requested a ride for two underage female passengers. The girls told the driver they were going to meet an older man who did not speak Portuguese.

On December 18, police identified a user who had requested another ride with four underage girls. Last Saturday (December 20), he allegedly went to São Paulo with the intention of leaving the country. A temporary arrest warrant was served for the crimes of rape of a vulnerable person and facilitating the sexual exploitation of children.

During the police operation at the hotel where Floyd was staying, electronic equipment containing child pornography, pen drives, memory cards, laptops, cell phones, stuffed animals, a watch with a hidden camera, and various types of telephones were seized. Police are continuing their investigation to identify others involved in the criminal network and locate new victims.

Floyd Wallace identified himself as a sex tourist on social media and had a criminal record in the United States for resisting arrest and assaulting police officers. The penalties could reach 34 years in prison.
