That's Ben Jordan in the mugshot
@AlexQuintana-v4o
I will never understand how a pedophile finds children sexually attractive…. children are filthy dirty animals that play in the dirt looking for wormsš
@stevecastro1325
Iām conflicted when giving stories like this a thumbs up, like āyeah, itās good!ā Good that the goblins are busted, but bad that it even happened.
@dustinmiller8160
Itās honestly insane how thereās so many incidents of this.
@handinfire8073
It's a good question about requirement. Especially teaching kids.
@adamwells4633
Rob is it? I hope I got it right, anyway if you haven't done it already I would suggest looking into the clowns at the youtube channel "dojolife". Again that's "dojolife" and not McDojolife like your channel. I was surprised that you hadn't already done videos on these guys because your channel names are so similar. Maybe you have already addressed them and I just can't find the video…
@Redsensei10p
Unfortunately, there are no regulations, because I feel the general public just assumes that all martial artists are full of ethical principles and standards because of the media. I think the public just falsely assumes those characteristics are automatically associated with a black belt or martial arts school owner. Movies and tv have shaped the perception of certain things for ages. I believe this applies to the martial arts too.
@ebellyfish4256
Just a point of order, there is a push to get away from calling it "child p*rn", because that identifies it from the perpetrator's point of view, and instead to refer to it as "child abuse material", which puts it from the perspective of the child. Thanks for doing the important work and highlighting the trash that invades the good world of martial arts!
@NonnagOrion
I think it is unregulated as far as child predator vetting goes, because it is such a small industry and it has very little public attention. Personally I do not think the state or city needs to regulate it because it would create a paywall, if you will, and hurt profitability of those ethical dojo owners who already work with very close margins. HOWEVER, I think the power is in the community and the people just like what Rob is doing with Academy Safe. Parents are the first line of defense in anything a child does. Research the instructors and coaches, babysitter, daycare, etc. Do not give anyone the opportunity to victimize your child with unsupervised sleepovers or travel. For traveling competitions, I think it would be nice to see a parent(s) volunteer to be present. If not to help then to at least ensure the safety of the group and just be another pair of eyes or act as the parent āadvocateā maybe? Either way, since it is an unregulated service, parents should be more cautious. Just my opinion though.
@HEMA-VTUBER
I'd imagine the main reason there isn't more regulation is just because there's been no organized push for it. As the saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so until there's someone actively lobbying for regulation most politicians aren't even going to recognize the problem.
@Emanon-b9y
Not a drag queen? Not a transperson? Hmm. Nope. It's the usual suspects.
@guyincognito959
Future president material then?
@alpachinko9154
Off topic I know, but what is the outro track?
@rebeldaddy6589
Everything remains unregulated until something really bad happens, but it also has to happen enough to cause public anguish and outcry. Roads don't get warning signs until someone dies in an accident. Laws don't get passed until someone does something unethical enough to require it. Medical procedures don't get banned until a patient loses a limb, or worse. Combat sports don't ban dangerous techniques until some unfortunate fighter's career is ended early. YouTube doesn't censor or demonetize content until it affects their stock price. You see what I mean?
@dysphunc
It's just looked at like a random hobby club and it really shouldn't be. Because it's just as unregulated in Australia where I live, my club has one simple rule: A parent must always be present and actively watching their child's class. It removes the majority of liability and I encourage all parents if there's a single thing they're unhappy about in the class they can collect their child and leave at any time. In over 10 years of operating like this I haven't had a single issue. I also have a group chat on FB with all the parents, I outside of the Dojo I have zero contact with any under age students – it has to be like this, anything else is fishy and liable.
@girlwhocantsurfgood
I live RIGHT NEXT TO THIS PLACE! There are little girls going into the ballet studio and waiting to get picked up there every day! š¤¢
@nukacola3218
I think it may have to do with the majority of schools are not chains. As most are smaller and have very few employees if any. And if they have some employees they are most likely family are friends. Basically what is needed is a overall governing body to implement regulation on to the industry.
@billtaylor1656
Im guessing the reason that there are no requirements to open a martial arts school could be the thought that martial artist are honorable people, or many think its a place for recreation with no real value or maybe a day cate to drop off the kids for a few hours. I beleive martial art schools should have some guidelines, AEDs, Cpr certified staff and martial arts i structors are teachers, so they should be mandated reporter's if theu believe any abuse is going on. There should be standards
