Lost Data Productions presents:
Legends of Punk: UK82 | Discharge, GBH, Varukers & The Exploited | British Punk Documentary

UK82 wasn’t nostalgia — it was escalation. This is the story of Discharge, GBH, Varukers and The Exploited.

Four of the most influential British punk bands of the early 1980s tell their overlapping stories, in their own words.

Still active, still touring, still uncompromising — these are the bands that carried punk from the streets into a global movement.

Born on UK council estates, their message of discontent and rebellion resonated worldwide, from Europe and the USA to South America, Asia, Russia and even China.

This was an era when raw street aggression fused with politically charged hardcore, reshaping the underground and directly influencing the rise of thrash metal.

Often overlooked but deeply respected, Discharge, GBH, Varukers and The Exploited helped define a second generation of British punk that refused to soften, commercialise, or fade away.

Whether you lived it or are discovering it now, Legends of Punk: UK82 is the definitive story of a scene that refused to conform — and never died.

Their stories; their words.

Very cool to hear the boys discuss what we all experienced and how life long punks felt then and feel now. All over the world during those first handful of years soo many of us went through the same things being punks. Making our own shirts early on, seeing other punks and having an instant connection on and on. To be part of not just a music genre but a movement, a lifestyle that was sincerely meant for some people. Lots came and went but for many once we were in it became who we are and what weve identified as for life. We cant all have mohawks in our 50s and 60s like Rat and wattie ha but our hearts are all the same! How Kev describes the UKDK movie too was great. I remember one of the punks here who lived at home was able to get the first copy and she invited a bunch of us street kids over to watch it. We had flipside in states but never got to see any of the UK bands we were into other than photos. It was amazing to watch and left an impression. Thanks for this new video, its good to watch and the old geezers talk. Great people and soo appreciated by soo many people across the world for not only the music but putting the hard work into touring for sooo long. Its not easy whatsoever being in a punk band none the less touring. These 4 bands alone have given soo much happiness to me, many friends and punks all over.
