Akron Police Lt. Brian Simcox was placed on paid terminal leave after an internal investigation determined he sexually harassed a female officer by slapping her on the backside during a funeral for a fallen detective. Instead of being fired, Simcox entered a settlement that allows him to remain on the city payroll while staying home, collecting full pay and benefits through the end of his employment period. The case drew significant attention because Simcox’s personnel file reportedly includes multiple past disciplinary issues, including prior harassment-policy violations, suspensions, and other misconduct spanning several years, raising concerns about how the department handles repeated infractions. The situation has fueled public debate about police accountability and transparency, with critics arguing that allowing an officer found responsible for sexual harassment to continue receiving taxpayer-funded pay undermines public trust. The story also highlights broader questions about disciplinary systems within law enforcement—specifically whether they effectively address patterns of misconduct or allow problematic behavior to persist through settlements and administrative leave arrangements rather than termination.

Law enforcement. One of the few jobs where you can break the law and get away with it on a regular basis. Truly disgusting.

When Officers are home on pay waiting disciplinary action, if and when they are found guilty, the pay that they got while awaiting the outcome of the investigation, if and when are found guilty the pay they got they ahould have to be paid back.
@morserick88
I love how cops and the basic public servants like to tell us that nobody's above the law unless you work in law enforcement or political capacity whatsoever and then it seems like you're a sovereign citizen and the laws don't apply to you this pig should not only lose the certification he should lose his freedom forever
@ourgaint
Akron residents should probably protest against this and say no we will not use our taxpayers money for nasty redneck monsters like him. They are paying this devil.

Never underestimate the mind of a criminal (even ones with badges). There was a dude, who Graped a girl (under the Bell St bridge in San Angelo). After he finished, apparently he thought she enjoyed his "performance", and set the knife down, (that he held against her during the act) while he pulled his pants back up,… And SHE GOT HIM!!
