New Twist in Case Against Mom Who Allegedly Had Baby with 14-Year-Old
Forty-three-year-old Robyn Polston of Washington, Illinois, has been arrested and charged with criminal sexual assault and child pornography after DNA evidence confirmed that a 14-year-old boy fathered her infant son. The investigation revealed that Polston, who previously chaperoned the boy at a dance, allegedly used burner phones and explicit images to maintain a relationship with the teenager while community members and family members called for her arrest. Despite the evidence and a judge’s ruling to keep her in jail as a flight risk, Polston recently pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a court appearance in January. I absolutely love to hear an attorney be so intentional about his/her choice of words and make no apologies for this type of behavior. I loved to hear the attorney say, "There is no excuse but victims often become offenders, again there is no excuse." He also caught himself when he said, "relationship". This is something that is just cemented in our vernacular but he stopped, apologized, and corrected. Amazing. I. Love. It. Thanks Sir.

I had neglectful parents. When my 47 year old horse trainer gave me attention that I never got from my parents I was an easy target. I was abused for 2 years thinking I was his secret girlfriend. I was 13. I have never been able to have a normal relationship. I’m now 62 and happy being alone.

The reason to plead not guilty initially is that when your being held on bail if you plead guilty you get treated exactly as a normal prisoner. Pleading not guilty means you wear your own clothes, and have lots of benefits that standard prisoners don’t have.
