DOJ: Sarasota man with Nazi, mass shooting propaganda planned racially-motivated attack
A Sarasota man is facing federal charges after investigators said they found written plans for a racially-motivated attack among his variety of Nazi and mass shooting propaganda.
During a search of 20-year-old Lucas Temple’s home on Nov. 20, federal agents said they found a shotgun with a sawed-off barrel that was not registered to Temple.
They also reportedly found evidence that Temple had been plotting a racially-motivated act of violence that included pipe bombs, multiple firearms, ammunition, a pressure cooker, literature on how to manufacture explosives and attack plans written on an index card.
The index card read, “Plans: Wear body cams for livestream. Write manifesto. Notify friends of livestream. Put flags on car. Play music on car speakers during operation. Place motion-activated bombs in doorways (for cops),” according to a photo shared by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
