UTSA faculty member arrested on federal child pornography charges

A faculty member at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) was arrested Tuesday on federal charges alleging that he possessed and accessed child sexual abuse material, including videos streamed through encrypted platforms and displayed on a television in his apartment during a search by federal agents.

Instructor Zaid Mashhour Haddad is facing one count of possession of child pornography and one count of knowingly accessing such material with the intent to view it, according to court documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
