Steuben County sheriff’s deputy arrested on federal child porn charge

A deputy from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office is accused of using an instant messaging app to send child pornography to other users online.

Stuart McHenry, 34, of Hornell, is charged with distribution and receipt of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York.

Prosecutors said the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip July 5 that a Kik user uploaded some 24 filed of suspected child pornography. Investigators determined 22 files constituted child pornography and were sent to other users via private message.
